Dr. Thomas H. Boyer
Dr. Boyer has been the owner of the Pet Hospital of Penasquitos since 1999 with a mission to give the community, pet owners, and most of all, your pets, the finest health care possible. Dr. Boyer received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University, Fort Collins, in 1989, after completing his pre-veterinary studies at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Dr. Boyer co-founded the Association of Reptilian and Amphibian Veterinarians, and created the Journal of Herpetological Medicine and Surgery, in 1991, and served as chief editor until 2008. Dr. Boyer published Essentials of Reptiles: A Guide for Practitioners, through the American Animal Hospital Association, in 1998. Dr. Boyer is one of the founding diplomats of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioner’s specialty in Reptile and Amphibian Practice, and has been a passionate reptile and amphibian specialist since 2010. Dr. Boyer has also practiced dog and cat medicine, as well as exotic animal medicine, for over 30 years.
Dr. Boyer is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Zoo Veterinarians, Association of Reptilian and Amphibian Veterinarians, Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians, California Veterinary Medical Association, and the San Diego County Veterinary Medical Association.
